To catch the live feed of the first ever Minecon, provided by IGN, click here!

Minecon will be transmitted live from Las Vegas at 9pm UTC, where Notch will present the keynote and release the final version of Minecraft.

I’m hoping to be able to embed the live stream once it’s up – and along with it I’ll post the various times things will be happening (in different timezones for all the international viewers ;o)

Boeing’s ‘Bird of Prey’ – Science Fact.

It’s not a coincidence this aircraft was called the “Bird of Prey”. It looks like something out of Star Trek, and employed a type of cloaking device, but not in the Science Fiction way! It used special paints, of varying shades, to make the aircraft appear less contrasty – making it less obvious to pick out details and helping it blend with the sky. This technique has been used on the F-22 & the new F-35.

Only 1 person flew the Bird of Prey, Rudy Haug, over it’s 3 year proof-of-concept flights. Never meant to advance beyond the prototype stage, the Bird of Prey was created to test and implement new technologies to reduce radar, infra-red and visual signatures.

Officially declassified in 2002, 3 years after its retirement, the Bird of Prey is now on display in the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, USA.

The Bird of Prey got its name, not just as a coincidence, from Star Trek
