The only really inevitable piece of news this morning, but still worthy of mention, as it puts an end to speculation on the format wars. It appears that Toshiba, admitting defeat, are about to make the decision to cease production on hardware, relating to the HD-DVD format. They saw the writing on the wall and are cutting their losses. Apparently, Toshiba say they have gained valuable experience from the format war – yeah, don’t bring a knife to a gun fight. [SHOW ME]
